The President of the Ordu Beekeepers Association, Akın Çiftçi, emphasized that the cost of one kilogram of flower honey for beekeepers in 2024 is 128 TL, urging people not to purchase products sold as honey for less than 250 TL.

In Ordu, 3,500 registered beekeepers and approximately 10,000 families earn their livelihoods from the beekeeping sector. The honey produced by beekeepers from Ordu is exported to European countries, with production taking place in over 50 provinces. It was noted that Ordu, which produces the most honey in Turkey with 20,000 tons annually, has a cost of 128 TL for one kilogram of flower honey, and that cheaper products should not be bought as honey.
