Honey Harvest Completed in Malatya
In the high-altitude pastures of Pütürge district in Malatya, rich in floral diversity, the honey harvest has been completed. The products obtained from the harvest, which yielded high efficiency, are being sold at 500 TL per kilogram.
The honey harvest has been completed in the high-altitude pastures at an elevation of two thousand meters in the Pütürge district of Malatya.
In addition to livestock farming, Pütürge is also known for organic honey production, where beekeepers send most of the honey they produce, after a laborious process, to various parts of the country upon order. Halit Culum, who has been engaged in beekeeping in the Pütürge-Poskıran area for 30 years, stated that they produce honey from 250 hives and have completed the new harvest period. Culum noted that they are storing approximately one ton of honey obtained after the harvest in cold storage facilities and selling it at 500 TL per kilogram, while also mentioning that they are struggling to keep up with the demand.
