3 Million Bees Perished in Manisa

In the Saruhanlı district of Manisa, approximately 3 million honey bees in 122 hives belonging to a beekeeper perished due to the entrance of the hives being covered with soil. Zafer Şahin, who has been engaged in beekeeping in the Halitpaşa neighborhood of Saruhanlı for about 15 years, placed 122 hives in the rural area of Lütfiye neighborhood a month ago. Şahin, who periodically checked the hives for the care of the bees, noticed last night that the entrances of the hives were blocked with soil. Immediately reporting the situation to the gendarmerie, Şahin found all the bees dead when he opened the hives due to lack of air. The gendarmerie teams, who conducted investigations in the area, initiated a study regarding the incident.
