Hakkı İşçi, who started beekeeping as a hobby 10 years ago in the Alpu district of Eskişehir, receives orders for his high-quality honey at least 6 months in advance. The 40-year-old İşçi, who works in a factory, began his beekeeping journey in 2014 with 7 hives on a 5-acre plot at an altitude of 1250 meters in the rural Ağaçhisar neighborhood, where he took a 1-month training course at the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry to become proficient. Whenever he finds the time from his job, İşçi rushes to his hives and moved them to the foothills of the Sündiken Mountains in the spring months to make the best use of the local flora. By ensuring that his worker bees collect plant essences in areas with rich flora and endemic plant species, İşçi started to obtain an average of 3 kilograms of honey from each hive. To meet the increasing orders over time, İşçi raised the number of hives to 50 and applied to the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry to have the quality of his honey measured.
