Honey Yield of Pine in Muğla Increases

This year, the honey yield of pine in Muğla approached 20 thousand tons, marking a busy season. In Muğla, which is Turkey's most important pine honey production center, beekeepers experienced one of their most productive years. In previous years, due to a shortage of pine honey, 10 bee colonies could collect approximately 26 kg (one tin) of honey per season, while this year, 2 bee colonies collected about 26 kg of honey. Beekeepers stated that although the yield was very good, due to the decrease in bee colonies, much of the pine honey remained on the trees this season, explaining that the honey yield, which was 6-7 thousand tons in previous years, approached 20 thousand tons this year.
