The Growth of Beekeeping in Colombia

Mónica Cepeda found her life's passion in bees. This animal scientist from the National University was inspired to work with these insects 10 years ago, due to her awareness of environmental protection. “With beekeeping – in addition to producing food like honey or pollen and having an economic benefit – environmental well-being is also generated. Without the work of bees, there would be no food because they carry pollen from flower to flower, thus fertilizing them and allowing for the seeds and fruits to develop,” Cepeda pointed out.
