Spanish Beekeepers Gather to Request Help Due to Sector Crisis

Surrounded by a cloud created by the use of smokers employed in the hives, nearly a thousand beekeepers called by the agricultural organizations Asaja, Upa, Coag, and the Agro-food Cooperatives gathered this Thursday in front of the Ministry of Agriculture. They are requesting assistance in light of the crisis facing the sector, a consequence of the effects of drought and rising costs, and to curb the massive imports of low-priced Chinese honey. The sector urgently demands labeling that reflects the actual content of the containers when it comes to blended honey, something that is not currently happening.
