The world celebrates the international day of this insect today. Studies reveal that it is not only agrochemicals that threaten their survival. For those of us working in science, it is a pleasure to see our topics come to life in public opinion and debate, as is the case with the health of bees in Colombia. The main cause of bee mortality, according to reports to the beekeeping chain, is poisoning from agrochemicals. In addition to these, factors such as deforestation, climate change, viruses and diseases, and poor beekeeping practices also affect their health.
