The Beekeeper's Day in Colombia

The Beekeeper's Day was declared 54 years ago by "the bee minister." This celebration highlights the work of beekeepers in the country, who are 90% also farmers. Their daily effort not only cares for the bees but also protects their environments and increases the number of hives in Colombia. According to the Productive Chain of Bees and Beekeeping (CPAA), the number of hives has increased from 88,111 in 2012 to approximately 114,509 in 2018, demonstrating significant growth in the country's beekeeping industry.
