Beekeeping and Honey Production.. The New Gold of Côte d'Ivoire

As night falls over Assounfoué, two men dressed in thick protective jackets put on mesh masks and gloves, carefully beginning their delicate task of "stealing" honey from the bees in several hives. This city, located in central Côte d'Ivoire, is witnessing a significant revival in beekeeping. Many farmers in this agricultural country, which is the largest cocoa producer in the world, are discovering this profession that allows them to increase their income, either through the sale of honey or by boosting their crop yields due to improved pollination by bees.
