Modification of the Honey Quality Standard in Spain

The Council of Ministers has approved a royal decree that modifies the quality standard related to honey. This modification establishes the obligation to indicate on the product label the percentage that each country of origin represents in the case of blends. The aim is to improve consumer information about the origin of the honey. The new legislation incorporates changes from the European Union directive and seeks to protect and enhance the competitiveness of honey from Spanish origins.
