In Niğde, 1.6 tons of oxalic acid support was provided to 377 beekeepers to strengthen beekeeping and protect bee health. The Oxalic Acid Distribution Program was organized within a project carried out by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry with contributions from the Provincial Special Administration. Governor Nedim Akmeşe also attended the program and met with beekeepers.
The project aims to protect bee health, support the efforts of producers, and increase the sustainability of beekeeping activities. With the distributed oxalic acid, it is planned to combat the Varroa mite in a total of 47,323 bee hives. Effective control of this parasite, which harms bee colonies, is intended to reduce colony losses.
