In Batman's Sason district, honey production increased this year

In Batman's Sason district, honey production increased this year. Last year, 200 tons of honey were produced, rising to 250 tons in 2026. Approximately 400 families in the district center and villages earn their livelihood from honey production.

Ekinli Village Headman Hayrettin Cengiz stated that the yield exceeded expectations and that Sason honey surpasses other types in the market due to its quality. The price per kilogram ranges between 2,500 and 3,000 Turkish Lira.

Cengiz emphasized the need to improve marketing opportunities for producers. He noted that the ongoing construction of a honey museum will contribute to sales both in Turkey and abroad once completed.
