Honey production is established in Esmeraldas, Juvenília, and Riachinho. To strengthen beekeeping and increase income opportunities, the Caio Martins Educational Foundation (Fucam), linked to Minas Gerais State Education Secretariat, partnered with the Euvaldo Lodi Institute (IEL), part of the Minas Gerais Industry Federation (Fiemg), to formalize apiculture in these regions. The project targets up to 60 beekeepers, 20 per city, aiming to transition them from informal to collective, regulated organizations with better market access. It includes diagnosis, formalization, legal compliance, training, and technical support over two years.
