Position Statement

BBKA continues to work with the Honey Authenticity Network UK (HAN UK) to raise awareness of honey adulteration. A further report is due to the 2025 ADM.

Previous Actions

In previous ADMs, the BBKA asked the Government to investigate imported fake and adulterated honey. They also sponsored petitions to change honey labelling rules. However, these petitions did not reach the threshold of signatures required for debate in Parliament.

Future Plans

Prepare costings of action programme and bring findings and costings to the 2025 ADM for further action on adulterated honey that does not rely on central Government.
