Baleira hosted the ninth edition of the Mountain Honey Fair this weekend, highlighting the value of honey and local products, as well as the work of producers and the beekeeping tradition in the Lugo mountain area. The fair featured Rural Affairs Minister María José Gómez and aimed to raise awareness of the beekeeping sector and local products through educational activities, gastronomic experiences, and initiatives combining tradition and innovation.

The Minister reaffirmed the regional government's commitment to support beekeepers in improving competitiveness, modernizing facilities, and strengthening measures against threats such as varroa mites and the Asian hornet (velutina). She also emphasized that Galicia is recognized for its quality and good practices in beekeeping.
